To ensure all of our guests have memorable experiences we ask that you take a moment to review the Inn’s policies listed below. If you find yourself with any questions, don’t hesitate to call us!
RESERVATION POLICY:
- For fast reservations and immediate booking, please use our online booking engine. Reservations can also be made by calling us directly at (802) 734-1610. You will receive an e-mail shortly after booking that confirms your reservation and payment.
- Full payment is required at the time of booking (Room Total + Tax). Room rates vary and are based on single or double occupancy only. Rates include a full breakfast each morning, WiFi, and Off-street parking.
- PLEASE NOTE: The Ellis Inn is a historic property built in 1795 with no elevator, and all rooms are located on the second floor.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
- All cancellations must be received by email in order to be processed. To receive a refund (minus 6% processing fee), cancellations must be made 30 days prior to arrival. Refunds will not be issued after that. Confirmation of the cancellation will be e-mailed once processed.
- Early Departures: Departures prior to scheduled date will result in charges for all rooms/nights originally reserved.
- Cancellation of Third-Party Bookings: If your reservation was made through a third-party website such as Expedia, Booking.com, etc. you are bound to the cancellation policies agreed upon when booking through those websites. Please note cancellation policies on third-party websites may differ from our standard cancellation policy (outlined above).
MINIMUM NIGHT STAYS:
- We do not have a minimum stay at this time.
ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES:
- CHECK-IN TIME: 3:00 PM (Should you arrive early, you are welcome to drop your bags off, and tour our property)
- CHECK-OUT TIME: 11:00 AM
- LATE ARRIVALS: If you anticipate arriving after 10:00 PM please inform us as soon as you know so we can help accommodate your needs.
- LATE CHECK OUTS: A late checkout may be accommodated upon request. Call us 48 hours prior to your stay to see if a late check out can be arranged.
ALCOHOL POLICY:
- The Ellis Inn reminds our guests to not drink and drive. We are licensed to serve beer and wine to our guests and we follow all Vermont State Laws regarding consumption, reserving the right to limit or refuse to serve alcohol to guests who may appear intoxicated. All drinks will be charged to your room.
BREAKFAST:
- Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served daily at 9:00am. Inn guests may invite a maximum of two outside guests to join them for breakfast at a cost of $20.00 per person plus tax. Please let us know prior to your arrival if you have food allergies or are planning on inviting guests to breakfast.
BICYCLE STORAGE POLICY:
- We have inside bike storage available on a first come, first served bases. Guests are not permitted to store bicycles in guest bedrooms or communal areas of the inn.
CHILDREN POLICY:
- Our rooms are designed for double-occupancy only; however, we are also able to accommodate Children Under 2 years old who are able to sleep in a pack ’n play.
HOUSEKEEPING POLICY:
- Housekeeping is available upon request for $10.00 per day. This service includes fresh towels, new toiletries, bottled water re-stocked, and bed made up. Housekeeping comes free with stays longer than 4 nights.
NOISE POLICY:
- Out of respect to other guests, we ask that you refrain from late night noise after 10:00pm.
PARKING POLICY:
- Off street parking is available for guests of the Inn.
PERSONAL ITEMS POLICY:
- The Inn is not responsible for the loss of personal items. Any personal items discovered after departure will be held for a reasonable amount of time. To ensure privacy, guests must contact the Inn to collect the items. Shipping fees will be charged to the guest's provided card.
PETS POLICY:
- Guest pets are not permitted at the inn.
ROOM KEY REPLACEMENT:
- Room keys that are not returned at the end of stay will result in a $20.00 replacement fee (charged to the room).
ACCESSIBILITY:
- Please note that the structure and framing were built in 1795; therefore, most external and internal doorways have transitions which may present some complications for wheelchair access. Stairs are required to access all of our guest rooms and there is no elevator at the Inn. If you have more questions regarding accessibility, please call us directly at (802) 734-1610.
SAFETY & SECURITY:
- All of our exterior doors are locked at 11:00pm for the safety of our guests. If you will be arriving back to the Inn after 11:00pm, please call or text (802) 734-1610 to make arrangements.
SMOKING POLICY:
- The Ellis Inn is located in a historic home and all interior spaces of the Inn are absolutely non-smoking. Guests who smoke in their rooms or in any other interior space on the property will be assessed a deep clean-up charge (minimum fee of $250). Absolutely no candles or incense allowed in the rooms.
TRIP INSURANCE:
- The Ellis Inn does not take responsibility for changes to your reservation due to inclement weather (this is Vermont after all). Unforeseen changes to travel plans, personal sickness, injury, or family emergencies will result in our standard cancellation policy. As such, we highly encourage guests to consider purchasing trip insurance in the event that a trip interruption, trip change, or emergency arises that impedes your travel and arrival on dates reserved.
