This was my first time in Vermont and what better place to stay than The Ellis Inn. As soon as I arrived in the evening, Paula was so welcoming and helped me settle in. It felt like I was visiting family. I stayed in the Blue Room. I might be biased but blue is my favorite color and the way Paula & Tim decorated it was so cozy. The breakfast Paula & Tim made each morning was worth getting up early for! So delicious, so fresh AND all homemade! Also, thank you Tim for helping me socialize with the other guests! The location was perfect for everything I needed to do to experience true fall foliage for the first time. Some things I did were an hour or more away but the drive itself is a gift of a spectacular view. I'm beyond happy and fortunate to have stayed in The Ellis Inn to fulfill my long time dream to see the beautiful color changes and small quaint towns of Vermont. The Ellis Inn was amazing. Paula and Tim were great hosts and very fun to talk with. The rooms were clean, the property was well maintained and breakfast was delicious! The woodwork in the billiard room and bar was absolutely stunning. I wish we could have visited during a warmer time so we could have tried out the pool as well. If you visit, try to find the Bernie Sanders bobblehead!

We were in town for a concert and, honestly, there wasn't a lot of decently priced hotels in Burlington and not a lot of places had availability left. I chose the Ellis Inn, which was a little out of the way, and I'm really happy it worked out the way it did. The place is just beautiful - the rooms, the property, the amenities, everything! Our room was impeccably clean, which I really appreciated! Paula and Tim could not have been nicer and more helpful. The breakfasts were also sooo yummy! My husband is not a huge fan of B&Bs, but he really loved it here. If we are ever in the area again, we would come back to the Ellis Inn in a heartbeat! We have already recommended it to our family and friends.

The Ellis Inn was absolutely amazing. Paula and Tim are exceptional hosts and their attention to detail is outstanding. The house itself leaves you with so much entertainment, leaving to explore is an added bonus. The hot tub, fire pit, endless nights playing pool in the great room, and relaxing by the pool were some of the fantastic amenities we enjoyed daily. The room was charming with a four poster bed, mini fridge and enough space for plenty of storage. The balcony swing was a perfect place to enjoy coffee or wine overlooking the back gardens and coy pond.
The breakfast and were delicious each morning and served with pleasant conversations by the hosts with great tips for area sightseeing. The location is central to plenty if you even feel like leaving this amazing home.
Thank you for being so friendly and accommodating for our 18th anniversary. It felt like we were leaving family after only a week stay. We hope to back back soon.

We wanted to end our trip through New England & Canada with a relaxed stay, exploring Vermont. We thought about staying in downtown Burlington, but knew we wanted to drive around outside of the city. Also, the options didn't seem that great in downtown.
When I was searching around, I found the Ellis Inn and it looked adorable, and to boot, had breakfast included. I am so glad we decided to stay there. Upon driving into the entrance, you could see everything was so well kept and cared for. Our room was clearly newly renovated, modern, clean and cozy. We met Paula and Tim, the owners and who took care of us for our delicious breakfasts (2 different menus for our 2 days with "grandma's" homemade blueberry cake) and they were so friendly and kind and made sure we were comfortable.
This is a great place to stay to explore beautiful Vermont, in any season, and we hope to get back there. In the meantime, I will get my mom a gift card to stay there so she can enjoy it too!

Nearby activities: Easy access to downtown and also drive to Stowe.

Absolutely amazing bed and breakfast. The owners are super nice and helpful. You can tell that truly love running the place. The breakfasts were fantastic and served in a beautiful dining area. The grounds were beautiful, all the flowers smelled delicious, and there is a waterfall and koi pond where you can feed the fish. There are many seating areas inside and outside. There is a fire pit, hot tub, and awesome pool. We only stayed two nights but we plan on coming back. Well worth every penny.
Rooms: We stayed in the newly renovated brick room. It was small but everything we needed. They did a wonderful job with the renovation and it was super cute. The bathroom was so nice! Rainfall shower head!!

We stayed at this elegant and stately manor while attending a wedding at nearby Maguam Winery. The house and grounds are spectacular and extensive with a fabulous swimming pool and pool house included. Gorgeous landscaping with water fall and koi pond. It is a perfect place for a relaxing stay and the breakfast was divine.

This was our first time at The Ellis Inn and it was PERFECT! Everything was delightful!!! The innkeepers are all so friendly and inviting. They were very helpful to us, suggesting places to visit, as we were not at all familiar with the area.
We stayed in the Gray Room which had a lovely private balcony which overlooks a serene garden with a koi pond and small waterfall. We enjoyed sitting on the swing and on the rocking chairs each morning and each night. The king bed was very, very comfortable. My husband and I slept very well during our stay.
We were able to take advantage of the pool during our stay over Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful pool and areas to rest.
The breakfasts were absolutely delicious!
Everything about this inn was wonderful. We highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

The second we walked into The Ellis Inn it felt like home. From the incredible common areas and refurbished antique floors to the welcoming kitchen and impeccable grounds, the inn had it all. 10 stars if I could. Our family loved every single moment of staying here. The location is perfect for discovering the area, mountains, Burlington, Lake Champlain. The house is so beautifully done and historic. They keep it immaculately clean and you feel special being there. There’s a play set and room in the basement with games that my 3 year old was so excited about every day. We loved our balcony in the grey room and the hot tub. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at the Ellis Inn last month. Gorgeous flowers were in full bloom everywhere we looked and the Ellis family were warm and welcoming. A tour of their lovely Inn showed us the love and care they put in to ensure their guests have a truly enjoyable and memorable stay with them. You can surely spread out and will enjoy exploring all that the inn has to offer for people of all ages. We were in Colchester to celebrate the birthdays for two family members and the beautiful and very well-equipped pool house overlooking the sparkling pool provided a wonderful spot to host friends and family. When the party was over, our family headed to the patio where we spent the evening relaxing by the fire pit or enjoying a soak in the hot tub. After a wonderful night's rest, we headed down to breakfast. Everything was delicious! The "old family recipe" cinnamon bread that was served along with breakfast was a big hit and was very much enjoyed by all of us. We wish Paula, Tim, Jesica and Trevor much success with their new Bed and Breakfast. We will certainly be back!

A little piece of heaven nearby plenty of things to do in Vermont. The house itself is stunning - a nice mix of updated and original features throughout. Even on the property there is plenty to do including a pool, gorgeous garden, game room, and some workout equipment.
